Welcome to Ink Scribe Digital. These Terms and Conditions set out the rules for using our website and working with us on any of our services, including book publishing support, editing, illustrations, and author marketing and promotion. By using our site or engaging our services, you agree to what's written here. If you don't agree with any part of it, please don't use our site or services.
Ink Scribe Digital is a US-based business that helps independent authors prepare, publish, and share their books. Throughout this document, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Ink Scribe Digital, and "you" refers to the person or business using our site or services.
We assist authors with book publishing, editing, illustrations, and author marketing and promotion. The exact scope of any project, including deliverables, timelines, and pricing, is agreed in writing before work begins, usually through a quote, proposal, or order form. That written agreement, together with these Terms, governs the work.
We help you prepare and release your book, but you remain the author and rights holder of your work. We don't guarantee sales, rankings, reviews, or any particular commercial outcome, since those depend on many factors outside our control.
To help your project run smoothly, you agree to:
Provide accurate information and any materials we need to do the work
Confirm that you own or have the rights to any content, images, or text you give us
Review drafts and provide feedback within reasonable timeframes
Make payments as set out in your written agreement
You're responsible for the content of your book, including its accuracy and its legal standing. You confirm that your work doesn't infringe anyone else's rights and doesn't contain unlawful material.
You keep ownership of your manuscript and the rights to your finished book. Once a project is fully paid for, the final deliverables we create for you, such as cover art, illustrations, or formatted files, are yours to use for your book.
Any preliminary materials, drafts, tools, or internal processes we use to produce the work remain ours. The content on our website, including our text, branding, and design, belongs to Ink Scribe Digital and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Payment arrangements vary from client to client and are set out in your written quote or order form. Depending on the project, this may involve an upfront amount, a deposit with a balance due later, or installments tied to milestones. Work generally begins once the agreed initial payment is received.
Fees, once agreed, are set for the scope described in your agreement. If you ask for additional work beyond that scope, we'll discuss and agree on any extra cost in writing before continuing.
Our refund policy is set out in full in the Refund Policy Page.
We share estimated timelines for each project and work to meet them. Timelines depend in part on you providing materials, feedback, and approvals on time. Delays on either side may shift the schedule, and we'll keep you informed if anything affects the expected dates.
Publishing a book often involves outside platforms, printers, and distributors. These operate under their own terms and pricing, which are separate from ours. We help you work with them, but we don't control their decisions, availability, or policies, and we aren't responsible for their actions.
We take care in our work, but our services are provided on an "as is" basis without guarantees of specific results. To the extent the law allows, Ink Scribe Digital is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of our site or services. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service in question.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law.
We treat your manuscript and project details as confidential and don't share them with outside parties except as needed to deliver your project or as required by law. How we handle personal information is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Either of us may end a project by giving written notice. If a project ends partway through, the Refund Policy below explains how any payments are handled. You're responsible for paying for work completed up to the point the project ends.
We may suspend or end access to our services if these Terms are breached, or if a project involves unlawful content or activity.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use our site or services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes connected to these Terms or our services fall under the courts of that state, unless the law requires otherwise.
